Messrs Veni & Associates is a litigation firm specializing in Defence representation for general insurance related matters including Motor and Non-Motor Claims.

We adopt an individualised approach to every matter, providing attentive service and legal strategies tailored to each client’s needs. Our commitment is to deliver focused, responsive and dependable legal representation.

We also recognise that litigation is not always the most appropriate route to resolution. With experience in negotiations and alternative dispute resolution, we seek practical settlements where appropriate, taking into account our Insurer clients’ objectives and the circumstances of each case.

Rostina Gaus

Rostina Gaus

Rostina graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree from Texas Tech University, after completing part of her study programme in Lousiana State University in USA. She was also conferred a Masters in Business Administration from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom. In 1988, she started her career in management consulting with PA Consulting Group specialising in productivity system design and implementation.

Three years later, upon the acquisition of a legal publishing company, the Malaysian Current Law Journal, Rostina focused full time on turning around the company and later with her technical knowledge concentrated on the development of Malaysia's first internet-based legal library with the objective of delivering legal research in local case laws and legislation to judges, lawyers and academics worldwide. With the backing of a strong team of technical as well as legal editors, this venture has resulted in a market leader within the online legal library arena.

Currently, Rostina sits on the board of directors of the group of companies associated with the Malaysian Current Law Journal Sdn Bhd including CU Legal Network Sdn Bhd and Mylawbox Sdn Bhd.

Wan Sharif bin Ahmad

Wan Sharif bin Ahmad

Wan Sharif obtained his Bachelor of Law (Hons) degree from the University of Malaya in 1978 and has served the Malaysian Legal and Judicial Service for several years in capacities such as Magistrate, Federal Counsel and Deputy Public Prosecutor.

In mid 1980s he joined the Pahang State Administrative Service wherein he helped set up and serve the Pahang Foundation.
He then joined the Malaysian Current Law Journal as an editor and has been with the company ever since. He is now a Director of the Company. Having a special affinity for law reporting, he is responsible for producing MCL's hardcopy editions.
His more than 20 years' experience in the legal publishing sector ensures that the Company remains on the right track in terms of servicing the ever-expanding needs of members of the judicial and legal fraternities in this country.

Preghaladhan Vizia Balakrishnan

Preghaladhan Vizia Balakrishnan

Pregha is the General Manager at CL Malaysia Sdn Bhd. He was previously Director of Operations at ARK Knowledge Solutions, a content creation and solutions consultancy empowering clients to make better decisions and commercialize value to their audience.

Prior to that, Pregha headed Editorial Operations across Southeast Asia & Hong Kong for LexisNexis, a multinational legal, regulatory and information technology company.

Over 21 years of passion for winning define Pregha - gained from his professional journey across retail, the financial sector (professional body), start-up consultancy and a multinational company with significant global operational expertise across Asia Pacific.

Certified in Lean Six Sigma with a professional Business Administration qualification from Association of Business Executives (UK) and a MicroMasters in Marketing (Digital World) from Curtin University (Australia), Pregha combines proven results in driving strategic business growth and operational efficiency through global collaboration, innovation, digital marketing and right sourcing.

At CL, Pregha drives operations, business and strategic direction of the company. He exemplifies a people-customer centric persona and is seen as a transformational leader.

Annette Rosemarie John

Annette Rosemarie John

Annette holds a law degree from the University of London and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1999. She served in corporate organisations - a public listed company as Compliance Executive and a multinational company as Legal Executive before embarking into legal publishing.

Annette held the position of Publishing Director for Southeast Asia at LexisNexis, helming the Malaysia and Singapore editorial teams. One of her key achievements was leading the migration project of print products to an online platform, thus creating a highly sustainable revenue stream.

Clocking over 13 years of experience in publishing and online legal research, she then moved into ARK Knowledge Solutions, a boutique firm offering content creation and solutions consultancy. As Partner and Publishing Consultant, she offered end-to-end editorial services and consultation to a wide clientele (government agencies, professional bodies and legal publishers) requiring customized and specialized content (digital and print) with goals of expanding their local market and developing additional or new revenue streams.

Annette also served as Publishing Lead in one of the leading educational publisher in Malaysia, McGraw Hill Education. She developed academic content solutions (digital and print) for the higher education market for Southeast Asia. She also fostered strategic partnerships with professional institutions to create online learning programs using clients' wholly owned content hosted by McGraw Hill's adaptive (Al powered) learning platform.

With 20 years of experience in content creation and product innovation, Annette currently heads the Digital and Online solutions team at CL Legal Network Sdn Bhd and MyLawBox Sdn Bhd, Malaysia's leading provider of online legal information systems specifically designed for professionals in the legal, corporate, government and academic sectors. She is responsible for all aspects of online products of the companies, namely, CLaw.com, MyLawBox.com, LabourLawBox.com and ShariahLaw.com. She manages all content development of existing products, the enhancement of online systems and is also responsible for the development of new digital products and services to attract new markets, increase market share and increase revenue streams.

She is our Managing Partner who graduated from the University of Wolverhampton in 1993 and she also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration majoring in Management.

She was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 16th November 1996.

She has experience in civil and defence litigation mainly Bodily Injury Claims, Property Damage Claims and Fire & Theft.

She also has experience in debt collection for banks and financial institutions and conveyancing matters.

Ms Noor Nadira binti Rosnan

She graduated from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2013 and was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 25th September 2014.

She is experienced in civil and defence litigation mainly Bodily Injury Claims and Property Damage Claims.
